The Rekindle Summit is an ecumenical gathering shaped by a shared commitment to faithfully support those who disciple and care for young adults across North Texas. While we come from different churches, traditions, and theological backgrounds, we gather around a common desire: to help the next generation encounter Christ, grow in faith, and find a community that walks alongside them.
Our posture is guided by three commitments:
We affirm Jesus Christ as the heart of Christian life and ministry. Every speaker and participant is encouraged to share from the convictions and practices that shape their approach to forming young adults as followers of Christ.
Because this is an ecumenical space, we recognize that each tradition brings its own theological emphases, language, and insights. We welcome those distinctives as gifts. We ask all presenters and participants to extend grace to one another, recognizing that our diversity reflects the breadth of the body of Christ.
This summit is not a place for debating doctrine. Instead, it is a space to listen, learn, and glean practical wisdom that strengthens ministry.
Our purpose is simple: to connect leaders, ministries, and churches who care deeply about young adults. We aim to create a space where participants can:
Share real challenges and opportunities in young adult ministry
Learn from a range of denominational perspectives
Develop practical tools and strategies
Form connections that strengthen ministry throughout the region
This summit grew out of the Wesley Foundation’s calling to steward the Sam Taylor Grant toward adult and young adult Christian education. In that spirit, we hope this gathering becomes a place where leaders find renewal, clarity, and partnerships that help them better reach young adults in their contexts.
We believe in one God,
the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father (and the Son),
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
